Principles of Pleasure

April 6 @ 10:00 am - April 7 @ 6:00 pm

Principles of Pleasure: A 2-day playshop exploring the joy of living in a body!

In my study and practice of Tantra, one of the principles we follow is the Healing Power of Pleasure. Our bodies are built for pleasure. I am committed to using pleasure to heal.  In Tantra, we use tools to discover, define and refine our sense of what pleasure is for each of us as individuals. Next we learn how to express it and share pleasure with others.

What first comes to mind when most of us think of the word “pleasure?” We often think of  “pleasure” as synonymous with sexual gratification. When we begin to look more subtly at our desires, though, we discover pleasure in some very surprising places.

Join me, TTBaum for two days of exploration, experimentation and practice all focused around your pleasure.

What will happen? – (without giving too much away)

If you have been to a Touch Ritual or another playshop with me in the past, you know that a lot of what transpires depends on who shows up. There will be an invitation for embodiment in many ways, including nudity, vulnerability, and adventurous exploration. Some of the things you can definitely expect are:

  • An introduction to Tantrik tools for focusing attention on pleasure
  • Practice expressing what you want with another person
  • Ways in which pleasure has the power to heal
  • Playing with the senses.
  • Movement, play, giving & receiving.
  • Creating your own personal pleasure map

Who is invited?

All bodies are welcome at Intimacy Academy playshops: old bodies, young bodies, trans bodies, cis bodies, fat bodies, thin bodies, differently abled bodies; bodies of any class, race, ethnicity, religion, spiritual tradition, sexual preference or orientation. While there’s no way to guarantee that all bodies are represented this is certainly the intention; so if you are uncomfortable with other types of bodies, this may not be the space for you.

We live in a racially diverse world & it is important that spaces dedicated to pleasure & erotic liberation reflect the ethnic & racial diversity of the world around us. We aim for a community of attendees that is at least 50% People of Color.

In order to keep the container for this event strong, please leave intoxicants at home.

What is the cost? F.E.E.s (Fair Energy Exchange, borrowed from my friends at Body Trust Circle and my colleague M’Kali-Hashiki).

Payment is a form of energy exchange: Money is a tangible symbol of the energy that you expend acquiring it and you in turn exchange money for the energy I give you during our work together. I want all workshops and playshops to be accessible to everybody, regardless of cost, but I must cover my expenses to keep this work sustainable.

Instead of a sliding scale I have 3 different payment tiers. All tiers give access to the same information/attention at the events. I will not ask for any kind of proof of your financial situation, BUT I do ask that you do some honest reflection about your financial reality from a mindset of abundance and then choose the tier meets that reality.

The tiers are named to reflect the amount of “green” you have access to:

SEEDLING $350-$550: You are just beginning to sprout and spread your roots. If you are on a limited budget, like a student, artist, or fixed limited income, this is the tier for you. There are also a limited number of scholarships available. Get in touch and let’s talk.

SAPLING $550: Your roots are spreading, and your leaves are bright green as you continue to grow! You are comfortable paying the honest price of the workshop that will cover all expenses, and enable me to continue to create content for play in the future.

TALL TREE: $650+: You’ve seen a couple of seasons; your roots spread out deep and wide, and support other trees in your environment. Your leaves reach high and capture the sun! You have some wealth, or your annual income is more than $75k. You are able to pay a little more to help assist others who may not have as much.
